HARROGATE’S STOLEN BUDDHA

Do you remember June 2013 when the Harrogate Advertiser reported the theft of a £2000 Buddha?

The solid stone Buddha statue was taken from a property on East Parade, Harrogate sometime between 10 June and 14 June in 2013.  It was so heavy police remarked at the time it would have taken 4 people to lift it.

Thefts from back gardens are not always as large and heavy as the stone Buddha but are equally as disturbing and sadly on the increase.  With garden furniture costing thousands of pounds and with very little chance of recovery once taken, we would encourage Harrogate residents to fit CCTV overlooking their gardens and secure locks on gates.
